Custom timber doors and windows for Wellington homes

At Woodworkshop we design and manufacture bespoke timber doors and windows for homeowners across Wellington and the wider region. Whether you are replacing old joinery or adding French doors to increase your property value, each piece is handcrafted in our workshop using traditional joinery and modern glazing systems.

With more than 40 years of experience, our team specialises in exterior timber doors, French doors and wooden windows made to suit character homes as well as contemporary builds. We are a BCITO training workplace and a member of the Master Joiners Federation, with all products meeting current NZ standards including NZ4211 and BRANZ glazing systems.

Custom timber joinery made to order.

Every project is made to order in our Wellington workshop, allowing us to match existing joinery, customise sizing and tailor detailing to suit your home. From initial consultation through to manufacture, our focus is on precision, consistency and a finish that feels seamless within the space. Feel free to come down to our Wellington workshop to check out our samples prior to ordering.

Quality timbers suited to exterior joinery.

We use carefully selected timbers suited to exterior joinery, including western red cedar for doors and window sashes and treated pine for frames. Modern air seals and stainless hardware are incorporated to support durability and weather performance in Wellington’s climate.

If required, we can also prime joinery and supply exterior facing boards ready for installation.

Why choose timber joinery.

For renovation and restoration projects, well made timber doors and windows help preserve the character of a home while improving comfort and energy efficiency. Many homeowners choose timber joinery when replacing existing doors or windows to maintain the original aesthetic while upgrading performance.

Double glazed windows

DOUBLE GLAZING

Timber is naturally insulating, making it an ideal material for doors and windows in New Zealand homes. When combined with double glazing, it helps retain warmth, reduce condensation and improve acoustic comfort.

All of our doors and windows can be manufactured with double glazing, ensuring better energy efficiency from day one. Installing glazing during manufacture is also the most cost effective option compared with retrofitting later.
